I might put the star back when Mac USB connectivity finally arrives, whenever “later this year” is. You just lost one star for not having this USB connectivity for both platforms together. You chose PC community to get this USB feature before Mac users? Mac users have to wait for wired USB transfer connectivity. Now that you have this, PC users get this right away and we Mac users STILL have to wait! I have been waiting for your team to release USB connectivity support for this app for many years, now! Get out that USB support for Macs ASAP and my app rating will return to 5 stars. I don’t run beta software on my only working and work-related Mac. This is still one of the best apps of any kind on my iPhone and iPad. The app keeps asking me to rate (which is getting annoying). Since my previous review (above) I still can't find anything wrong. It does such a good job of looking inside iPad photo folders, that I wish it could act as a file manager so I could delete garbage photos that have accumulate easily from my desktop. It even backs up single or multiple folders to the PC.
I transfer to-and-from a PC running Win7 Pro using the Photo Transfer App for PCs. As said in my title, the more I use the app the more I like it. I hardly ever give five stars to anything. Overall it works really well and I would highly recommend it. I’d much rather have it return me to the next block of 100 images so that I can continue my downloading rather than my having to navigate back to that particular block of photos. I’d give this five stars except that, after you download a block of 100 photos it then returns you to the first photo in the folder. It also gives you the option to delete the photos from your iPhone, and iPhone pops up a message to confirm before deleting.
It’s very quick for me, although that could be a function of Internet connection I suppose. It will let you upload to the iPhone or download from the iPhone phots and video. There is a drop-down that allows you to select groups I’m files in intervals of 100. Rather than it’s attempting to download your entire photo video library from your iPhone or other device, it downloads them in a lock of 100 at a time. Once they are both open and you select your iPhone it shows the first 100 photos in whatever folder you’ve select from the program running on the computer. You have to open up the Transfer app on the iPhone and also open up the application on the computer. You can also transfer by Wi-Fi but I have not used this feature. I have my phone plugged into the computer USB through which the transfer is done. I’m downloading from an iPhone xs onto a Microsoft computer. Overall satisfied and would (and have) recommend. (Considering it could've been user error, of course.)
The ability to provide proof of paid full access and use on other devices would have bumped me to 5 stars, even with the issues I ran into. I have used and created several IDs over the years but can not use the app I paid for to transfer from those. My main complaint is that use of the app is locked to one specific Apple ID instead of a log-in based system. Both apps were easily accessible and communicated well with each other. It struggled some with my mass of pictures and the back up/save & delete feature never worked for me, but overall still performed mostly as advertised. I transferred from a 4, 5s, 5c, and 6, to a flash drive on Windows 8.
I purchased an eReader for about $15 that never wanted to work, so paying for the full version of this app was a no brainer. With multiple previous iPhones full of pictures and my current one slammed full as well, I needed and efficient method of transfer. If you can prove to me this is an user error and that this is my fault for not paying attention, I will change my review (if I remember that I wrote it) to five Stars. Please respond to this and tell of any ways I could've avoided the hassle I went through, such as reading the description of the app. So that is why I am rating this app the three Stars.
So now at the moment of writing this review I am C meeting these files from wmv to MP4 so I can finally transfer them to my iPhone because the video recordings on my phone are MP4 so I believe that this will finally work because this entire process I have been doing has taken two days and probably going to take a third of this doesn't work. Turns out that didn't work either so I then assumed that the reason they wouldn't transfer is because the file name extension was wmv.
So then I decided I would install the application for my PC and transfer them that way. The only problem was they wouldn't show up when I went to the folder they were located in. So I got this app because I wanted to transfer some videos from my Google drive to my photos so I could edit them iMovie.
